#11 Why your business needs videos

We have a number of video & film projects being released by clients in the coming weeks, so we thought we’d use this week’s blog to reflect on the importance of using films or short videos specifically to promote your business.

Video marketing is certainly nothing new – businesses have used TV commercials for years to sell their products & services. What is new, is the way in which social & online media, provides a much more diverse opportunity for using videos – be that a short 30 second video or a longer format video with more structure & narrative.

Instagram stories & short form selfie videos are a great way to build your brand & customer engagement but we also see a big space for professionally produced & edited video. Here are three reasons to use video:

1.A first impression means everything! A professional video on your social media & website landing page will tell your customers that you’re serious about your business & care enough about your image that you’re willing to put the time & money into promoting your services properly.

2.Build trust & credibility. Videos allow your potential customers to see who you are & what you’re all about first hand. Videos should represent the brand of your business, they build trust & credibility & remove the mystery & any risk in selecting from any number of local businesses providing a similar service.

3.Search engines love videos. YouTube is now the second largest search engine behind Google. Uploading videos & using good search tags & titles to YouTube provides a further opportunity for you to be found by customers when they search. YouTube videos in particular give you the opportunity to provide tutorials or showcase your work which will prove your experience & skills. Videos on web pages also increase the amount of time people spend on your website, which will help with your Google rankings.
